What if you could fly?

What if you could fly? Not like driving to the airport and getting on a plane; I’m talking about taking off like superman whenever you wanted. Well that would fix all of your problems now wouldn’t it? (maybe a little, at least) Think about it; you are the only person on this planet with that skill, you would be rich, famous, and able to travel anywhere in the world whenever you wanted. That is all great, but what is intriguing is what happens to you on the inside – the growth of confidence.

(For Guys) If you could fly you would be able to walk up to any girl and introduce yourself. Why is that? Because you know that in about 10 minutes, if she agrees to spend some time with you, that you will grab around her, have her stand on top of your feet, and shoot off into the clouds. Having this set of skills gives you a sense of importance and value. You arent nervous to talk to the girl of your dreams because you feel deserving, and that you are so special and amazing that you will take her breath away. Do we need to be able to fly to have these feelings? Why cant we all feel so valuable that any person should want to spend time with us? Well first of all it is because we put our sense of value in other people’s control. We are so focused on what people think of us, and trying to make them like us, that we forget why we are talking to them in the first place. Think back to flying. You took a girl and showed her the sky, you gave her attention. You showed her something amazing, something she has never seen before. Think of alladin, and how he showed Jasmine the world on a magic carpet ride. No where in this act, if done with the right mindset (not showing off), is there some sort of self measurment of value. You are really giving all your attention to the other person, which is what needs to happen. We all have the ability to fly, its just the process of how we show other people that makes all the difference.

Determine self worth?

Let me answer this question with another question:

How does one determine the value of a dollar?

Well, you must spend it.

Im not going to dive full on into this analogy because i only have about 5 minutes before my laptop dies.

When you spend a dollar, you find out how much it is worth.  And when you spend yourself, you figure out how much you are worth.  The best way to explain “spending yourself” would probably be to state the opposition: Doing nothing.  People think their value is determined by others, and while this is true in the example of the dollar, it couldn’t be more untrue in life.  Your value is an internal measure, you determine it, and when you spend yourself you find out how much you are worth.  The basis of measurement for many people is money, but that only increases your value to others, not yourself.  Measure success by the effort you put forth in your endeavors, not the outcome.  This is one part in the measure of our self worth, I will go into other aspects later.

How do others determine our self worth?  This is a great question ill be talking about at a later time as well.
